Effect Management Development in major deal

Effect Management Development in Karlstad buys the rights to Simbiz, a market leading system in strategic business and management simulation. In the long term perspective Effect Management Development are expecting the company's turnover to double.

- Effect Management Development has been developing individuals, organisations and businesses for more than 20 years. We know from history that experience-based learning gives good results. And as Simbiz works in the same way it fits well with our proposals to companies and organisations all over Sweden, says Anne-Charlotte Sverkström at Effect Management Development.

Simbiz was first launched in 1984 as a strategic tool to help businesses in understanding the overall picture and the consequences of various decisions. The web-based  tool is used by the participatns who run a fictional business where their decisions affect the developments as well as the results. The simulation is taylor made on the basis of the organisations activities in order to be as realistic as possible. All aspects are taken into account; staff, owners and customer perspectives and the participants get rapid feedback as to how well they do.

- Simbiz makes clear the connection between different functions and areas and provides an increased understanding of the operation, ones own role and what actually affects the result. Simbiz is therefore an efficient tool to use in big organisational changing processes, my it be changing of behaviour or adding new knowledget. In the long run it contributes to an increased efficiency and better financial results, says Staffan Barrefors at Effect Management Development.

Today we offer the Simbiz model in both English and Swedish and it can easilay be translated into other languages. It has been used by more than 30 000 people in companies and public organisations and it is well established in the academic world among universities and university colleges. At the School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University, Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg and at Karlstad University one can gain university points in Business skills with the help of Simbiz.

Göteborgs Energi is one of many organisations which have used Simbiz.
